Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the UsTwo application ("the app", "our service"). By using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using UsTwo, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use UsTwo. By using the app you confirm that you are 13 or older. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you confirm that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Description of Service

UsTwo is a private social app for a small group of people who already know each other. You can connect with up to five friends using a short code, draw together on a shared canvas in real time, share statuses, send photos and drawings to each other's home screens, answer daily questions, play games and quizzes, look after a shared pet and plant, count down to milestones, and place widgets on your home and lock screens. The app includes both free and premium (Pro) features.

There is no public feed, no follower system, and no way to search for or discover other users. The only way to connect with someone is for one of you to share a friend code with the other.

4. Your Profile and Account

Using UsTwo requires an account. You create one during onboarding with an email address, Sign in with Apple, or Google, and it is what allows your data to survive reinstalling the app.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your profile. We do not currently verify email addresses at sign-up, so you are responsible for entering yours correctly; we may be unable to help you recover an account registered to an address you do not control.

5. Friends and Friend Codes

You may connect with up to five friends at a time. Friend codes stop working six hours after they are generated. Anyone who has your code within that window can add you, so share it only with people you intend to connect with.

Either person can remove the other at any time. Removing a friend permanently deletes your one-to-one data with that person — your messages, your question answers together, your shared pet and plant, your streak, and any quizzes or games between you. This cannot be undone.

Some things are not covered. Anything either of you has saved to your own device stays on that device; photos and drawings already sent remain on our servers until they expire, within seven days; and a shared canvas circle is separate from your friendship — if you are both in one, leave the circle to stop sharing that canvas.

6. Your Content

You keep ownership of everything you create in UsTwo. By using the app you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce and transmit your content solely for the purpose of operating the service — for example, delivering a drawing to the friend you sent it to, or displaying your status on their widget. This licence ends when the content is deleted. We do not claim ownership of your content and we do not use it to train machine-learning models.

You are responsible for the content you create and send, and you confirm you have the right to share it.

7. Acceptable Use and Objectionable Content

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour on UsTwo.

You agree not to create, send, or share content that:

• is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit;
• harasses, bullies, threatens, intimidates, or impersonates any person;
• promotes hatred or violence against any individual or group;
• sexualises, endangers, or exploits minors in any way;
• promotes self-harm, suicide, or dangerous activity;
• infringes anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights; or
• contains malware or is designed to compromise the app or another user's device.

You also agree not to use the app for any unlawful purpose, interfere with or disrupt the service, reverse engineer or decompile any part of the app, click or manipulate advertisements artificially, or create multiple profiles to abuse free trials or daily limits.

Reporting abuse. If someone sends you objectionable content or behaves abusively, remove them as a friend — this ends the friendship and deletes your one-to-one data with them; if you also share a canvas circle with that person, open the canvas and leave the circle as well, because a circle does not end when you remove a friend — and report them to us at ustwo.app.contact@gmail.com. We review every report and aim to act within 24 hours. We may remove content, suspend or permanently terminate the accounts of users who violate this section, and we may do so without notice.

8. Subscriptions and Payments

UsTwo offers a Pro subscription that unlocks additional features. Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed for us by RevenueCat. Key terms:

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
• A Pro subscription applies to the account that purchased it.
• Free trial eligibility and terms are determined by the store, and any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. We cannot issue store refunds directly.

9. Coins and Virtual Items

The app includes coins, a virtual currency used to unlock cosmetic items. Coins may be earned in the app or purchased as a one-time in-app purchase.

• Coins and items unlocked with them have no monetary value, are not your property, and cannot be exchanged for money, transferred to another user, or redeemed outside the app.
• Purchases of coins are final and non-refundable except where required by law or granted by Apple or Google.
• Coins and unlocked items are tied to your profile. They are forfeited without compensation if your account is deleted or terminated.
• We may change the price of items, the rate at which coins are earned, or the catalogue of items available, at any time.

10. Advertising

• The free version of the app displays advertisements served by Google AdMob.
• A Pro subscription removes advertising, other than optional rewarded adverts you may choose to watch in exchange for coins.
• You agree not to click advertisements repeatedly or attempt to manipulate ad interactions.
• We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements displayed in the app.

11. Location Features

The distance widget is optional and off by default. It requires both you and your friend to switch it on. Your precise location is never shown to your friend — only the distance between you. You can withdraw location permission at any time in your device settings, and turning the feature off deletes the coordinates we hold. See our Privacy Policy for detail.

12. Push Notifications

The app may send push notifications, including messages from friends, status updates, reminders, streak alerts and, if you turn on the distance feature, distance alerts. You can turn individual notification types off in the app and all notifications off in your device settings.

13. Consent to Share Consumption Data with Apple

By using UsTwo and making in-app purchases, you consent to our sharing of data regarding your usage and consumption of purchased content with Apple, as part of our efforts to resolve refund requests. This information may include details about how you have accessed and interacted with the purchased content. The purpose of sharing this data is to help Apple make an informed decision regarding refund requests. We ensure that such data sharing is done in compliance with Apple's policies and only as necessary to process your requests.

14. Intellectual Property

The app, including its design, code, graphics, question and quiz content, artwork and branding, is owned by UsTwo and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the app without our written permission.

15. Termination

You may stop using UsTwo at any time, and you may request deletion of your account and data as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to other users or to the service. On termination, your right to use the app ends immediately and any coins or unlocked items are forfeited.

16. Service Availability and Changes

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We may also discontinue the app, in which case we will make reasonable efforts to give notice. Real-time features depend on network conditions outside our control.

17. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We make no guarantees regarding the reliability of real-time synchronisation or data persistence, and you should not rely on UsTwo as the only copy of anything you value.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, UsTwo and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of data, loss of drawings, or interruption of service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the app shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty-five US dollars.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

19. Apple as Third-Party Beneficiary

These Terms are between you and UsTwo, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

20. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Oklahoma, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of any mandatory consumer-protection law of the country in which you live.

21. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and where changes are significant we will tell you in the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
