Privacy Policy

UsTwo ("we", "our", or "the app") is a private social app for you and up to five friends. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, who else receives it, and what control you have.

1. Information We Collect

Account and profile

• Display name — the name you enter during onboarding. Visible to your friends.
• Profile picture — optional. See Section 5 on how images are served.
• Email address and password — if you sign up with an email address rather than with Apple or Google. We do not currently verify email addresses, so please check yours carefully; an incorrect address cannot be used to recover your account.
• Apple or Google sign-in identifiers — if you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an identity token and, where you permit it, your name and email address (or Apple's private relay address).

Content you create

• Shared canvas drawings — live strokes are sent directly between devices where possible (see Section 4). Strokes are also stored on our servers so that a friend who opens the canvas later sees what is already there.
• Saved canvas snapshots — stored only on your device. These are never uploaded.
• Statuses — the icon, colour and any text you add.
• Photos and drawings you send — relayed through our servers to the friends you choose.
• Voice notes and photo answers — recorded or captured when you answer certain questions.
• Answers, messages and game data — your daily question answers, quiz answers, chat messages, and game moves.
• Pet and plant names — the names you give the pet and plant you share with a friend.
• Milestones — the titles, dates and background photos you add are stored only on your device. These are never uploaded.

Friends

• Friend codes — a short code you can share to let someone add you. Codes stop working six hours after they are created.
• Your friend list — who you are connected to, when you connected, and whether you have labelled one of them your partner.

Usage and purchases

• Streaks, coins and daily limits — counters used to run the app's features.
• The date you last opened the app — used to time reminders. If you stop opening UsTwo we may send you an occasional nudge to come back; you can turn that off under Profile → Settings → Notifications.
• Subscription status — whether you have an active UsTwo Pro subscription. We never see or store your payment details; purchases are handled entirely by Apple or Google.

Device and technical information

• Push notification token — so we can deliver notifications.
• Time zone — your device's offset from UTC, sent when you open the app, so reminders arrive at a sensible hour where you are.
• App version and device identifiers — including your device's advertising identifier where you have allowed tracking (see Section 6).
• IP address — received by our infrastructure and advertising providers in the ordinary course of serving the app.

Optional information

• Location — only if you switch on the distance widget. See Section 3.
• Onboarding survey answers and feedback — if you choose to provide them.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To run the app's features — syncing drawings, delivering statuses, relaying photos, matching you with friends, and keeping widgets up to date.
• To send push notifications you have asked for. You can turn individual notification types off in the app, and all of them off in your device settings.
• To provide and restore access to UsTwo Pro.
• To display advertising to users who are not subscribed.
• To understand how the app is used, so we can improve it.
• To prevent abuse and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your drawings, photos, messages or answers to train machine-learning models.

3. Location

Location is used for one optional feature: distance. It shows how far apart you and a friend are on your widgets, and can also notify you when the distance between you changes noticeably or when the two of you are in the same place.

• It is off by default and only collects location after you enable it.
• It is reciprocal — both people must turn it on before either sees a distance.
• It can send notifications. While the feature is on, we may notify you and your friend when your distance changes noticeably, or when you are together. These are on by default; you can turn them off under Profile → Settings → Notifications without switching the widget off.
• We collect your current position only, while the app is open. We do not collect location in the background and we do not keep a location history.
• Your coordinates are never shared with your friend. The distance between you is calculated on our server, and your friend's app receives only that distance — never your position. Short distances are rounded to the nearest ten metres.
• Turning the feature off deletes your stored coordinates.
• We do not share location data with any third party, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. How Your Drawings Are Transmitted

Live drawing uses a direct peer-to-peer connection between devices where the network allows it. Because many mobile networks block direct connections, this traffic is normally routed through relay servers operated by Cloudflare. Cloudflare passes the traffic through; the drawing content is not stored there by us.

This section describes the live shared canvas. A drawing you send to a friend is delivered differently — it is uploaded to our file storage and fetched over a public link, in the same way as a photo. See Section 5.

5. Images, Voice Notes, and Public Links

Profile pictures, sent photos and drawings, and photo or voice answers are stored in cloud storage and served over public web links. This means that anyone who obtains the link to a file can open it, without being your friend and without signing in. The links are not published anywhere by us, but they are not protected by a password. Please bear this in mind when deciding what to send.

6. Advertising and Tracking

If you are not a UsTwo Pro subscriber, the app displays advertising supplied by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers, your IP address, and information about how you interact with ads. Some ad formats in the app may serve personalised advertising.

On iOS, you will be asked through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt whether we may track you across other companies' apps and websites. If you decline, your device's advertising identifier is not made available to our advertising and attribution partners. You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.

You can limit personalised advertising on iOS in Settings › Privacy & Security › Apple Advertising, and on Android in Settings › Google › Ads.

We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements shown in the app.

7. Who Else Receives Your Data

We share data with the following providers, only so far as needed to run the app:

• Supabase — hosts our database, authentication and file storage. Most of the data described above rests here.
• RevenueCat — manages subscriptions and in-app purchases. Receives your app user identifier and purchase records.
• Google AdMob — serves advertising to users who are not subscribed.
• PostHog — product analytics. Receives your app user identifier, your display name, your app version, and a limited set of named events (such as opening the app or starting a subscription). It does not record your screen, your taps, or the content you create.
• Singular — attribution and marketing measurement. It measures which advert or link led to your installing the app, and also receives device identifiers and a limited set of named in-app events (such as updating your status, sending a nudge, starting a game or quiz, or saving a widget), so we can tell which campaigns bring in people who go on to use the app. It receives the event names only — not your messages, answers, drawings or photos.
• Cloudflare — relays live drawing traffic, as described in Section 4.
• Expo — delivers push notifications. Expo receives your push token and the text of each notification.
• Apple and Google — deliver push notifications to your device, process purchases, and act as sign-in providers where you use them.

Each of these providers operates under its own privacy policy. Data may be processed in the United States.

8. Retention and Deletion

Removing a friend permanently deletes your one-to-one data with that person: your messages, your daily question answers with them, your games and quizzes together, your shared pet and plant, and your streak with them. This cannot be undone.

It does not delete everything. Photos and drawings you have already sent each other stay on our servers until they expire, within seven days of sending, and any copy already saved to the other person's device stays on their device. A shared canvas circle is separate from a friendship: if you are both in one, the canvas and its drawings are unaffected — leave the circle if you want to stop sharing it. Your statuses are also unaffected, because they may be shared with other people too.

Otherwise we keep your information for as long as your profile exists.

You can delete your account and its data at any time from inside the app: Profile → Account → Delete account. This is immediate and permanent.

If you have already uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email us at ustwo.app.contact@gmail.com from the address on your account. Including your user ID helps us find the right account; you can copy it from the app under Profile → Account → User ID.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and server-side access controls that prevent one user from reading another's data.

You should know that your messages, answers and statuses are not end-to-end encrypted. They are stored in a form we could in principle read, and notification text passes through our push provider. We do not read your content except where we must to investigate abuse or comply with the law.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

UsTwo is not intended for anyone under 13, and you must be at least 13 to use it. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 is using UsTwo, contact us.

11. Child Sexual Exploitation Policy

Child sexual exploitation is strictly prohibited on UsTwo. We have zero tolerance for any content that involves or promotes the sexual exploitation or abuse of children.

12. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. If you are in the EEA or UK, our lawful bases are performance of our contract with you (running the app), your consent (location, tracking, notifications), and our legitimate interests (security and improving the app).

If you are a California resident, we do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and where changes are significant we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use UsTwo after a change means you accept the updated policy.
